How to Enter About the March of Dimes Eligibility/Judging Award Categories

2008 A.I.R. Awards – Call to Entry

1. Each entry must be submitted on a separate audio CD (no reels, cassette tapes, digital cassettes or cartridges will be considered). Each CD envelope must be clearly labeled with the station or agency name, entrant’s name, category and entry title. No two entries or series may be submitted on the same CD, even if entries are within the same category.

2. Additional material edited onto entries that was not in actual on-air presentations, such as background music to enhance an entry, is not allowed.

3. Before submitting your entries, check to make sure that the entries can be played on ordinary CD players. If judges are unable to hear an entry on a CD, the entry will not be judged.

4. An entry form must be completed for each and every submission and must be sent to the A.I.R. Awards in duplicate (two copies of the form). The enclosed blank entry form may be reproduced as needed.

5. Please send all submissions to:

The A.I.R. Awards, March of Dimes
Centre City Tower, 650 Smithfield Street, Suite 1180
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

6. Collateral materials providing further description/explanation of the entry may be submitted (in duplicate, please). Entries in all categories may have background information attached to the entry form, but must be limited to two pages maximum. In station-promotion categories only, collateral materials such as photos and other visuals may be submitted on DVDs or CDs, but must not exceed three minutes of playback time. Collateral DVDs or CDs must also be labeled with the information on their corresponding entry CDs.

7. All written information must be submitted in English. If the entry is not in English, it is recommended, but not required, that a manuscript or copy be furnished in English.

8. All CDs must be clearly labeled with the title of the program or spot, its length, the airdate, the name and phone number of the entrant and the category entered.

9. One entrant from each station, agency or other organization must submit camera-ready art or a disc of the station or corporate logo to be used in the awards presentation.

Note: The A.I.R. Awards will not be responsible for damage to CDs incurred in transit, screening or shipping. Entries and other materials will not be returned to entrants. All entries submitted incorrectly (according to entry procedures) will be ineligible. Judging is based on excellence; therefore, more than one award or no award may be given in any category.
